The Saxon font at Boarhunt has all the hallmarks of a pre Norman font
The font in the Anglo Saxon church of St Nicholas Boarhunt, is a massive stone tub but is it Anglo Saxon?
This is a splendid large tub font carved from chalk stone. It is lead lined and unadorned and sits on a simple plinth. With no decorative features to date it, its age is difficult to determine. Its style is not Norman but it has the look of great age and is similar to others thought to be Anglo Saxon as at Crondall and Newton Valance.
