Study to Find the Tangled origins of a Family Dipnoll Dipnall Dipnal Dipnel Dipnell Dypnall and hailing perhaps Dippenhall Hampshire Surrey Borders?
This name is not a common name , there have been only about 39 family groups /households since the 1841 Census. We are looking to map and connect information about names that have been long associated either with Hampshire overall or particular places within it.
There is a Dipnall.com Guild of One Name Studies registered project researching this name and related derivatives, yes it is a particular interest of ours, but the essence is whether the name post Norman conquest is a name derived from the manor of Dippen Hall within Crondall (near Farnham Surrey) or a name that originates within Hampshire itself?
There is a group that develops in Salford Manchester and a small group that we call the London Cluster. Some Dipnalls went to Australia, Canada, USA and South Africa, we are lucky enough to have living contacts with each of those small groups.

Earlier records are gradually being researched and located with the help of HGS records on FindMyPast collections and the massive archives of Winchester Portsmouth, Surrey and National Records and Archives.
In related posts we will look to map and give summary information about the places where the various Dipnalls were resident, grouped and when they were there. The related project site can then provide you with further
